Concept design: “Reverse Mentoring” Workshop for DFIs

With UN Women and FinDev Canada, we conceptualized a 2-day workshop called “Reverse Mentoring”. This is a design-thinking workshop that turns fund structuring on its head. Instead of structuring a fund with the LPs in mind, we place the end beneficiary at the heart of the process. In this case, the end beneficiary is a women-owned SME in Africa raising less than $1mn. The workshop will bring together DFIs which are tackling gender inequality, GPs tackling SME finance and other interested parties. Most importantly, it will invite women SME entrepreneurs to participate and will remunerate them for their time.
