WAI Group

The Women in African Investments group was created in November 2017. In our fundraising journey for LelapaFund, we had noticed a lack of women-led funds and a lack of understanding on how to use technology in investment processes. There was also a notable lack of innovation in solving the chronic SME finance gap, despite the dominance of development finance. The WAI Group was created to start tough conversations on these issues, and many others.
